Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026, on 12 and 13 September. It is a new version of Classic, built as a "Classic+": everyone starts over at level 1.

Key points

  • The level cap stays at 60, for good. The game will grow sideways instead: the Legacy system, new zones, new raids.
  • Over 1,000 new quests cover the journey from level 1 to 60.
  • Forever is included in the World of Warcraft subscription. No pack is required to play.
  • Transmogrification is optional: you can turn it off and see everyone in their base appearance.
  • The game runs on the same client as modern WoW; the beta uses patch 1.60.1.

When to play

Launch is set for 4 November 2026.
