Holy Priest — guide and builds

The WoW Forever Holy Priest keeps its whole raid-healing arsenal and gains Binding Heal, Prayer of Mending and Litany of Light for spread-out damage.

Class: PriestData 1.60.1.70009By ForeverGuide team · updated Sep 26, 2026

Overview

The Holy Priest keeps the Classic raid-healing arsenal: Heal, Greater Heal, Flash Heal, Renew and Prayer of Healing. WoW Forever adds tools for damage spread over several players.

Three talents leave the tree: Healing Focus, Improved Prayer of Healing and Lightwell. In their place come Binding Heal, Prayer of Mending and Litany of Light. Binding Heal heals your target and yourself, with little threat. Prayer of Mending, the final talent, heals its target when they take damage or receive a direct heal, then jumps to another nearby ally, up to 5 times. You can only have one active. Litany of Light refunds mana when you alternate your heals: repeating the same spell still drains your pool.

Prayer of Healing reaches 40 yards and Spirit of Redemption lasts 15 sec. Searing Light now raises all your Holy damage. At level 20 in the beta, Holy sits in A tier among healers, just behind Discipline, thanks in part to Wand Specialization.

Read the details

Your arsenal covers every situation, and Binding Heal and Prayer of Mending handle spread-out damage. You bring Fortitude and Divine Spirit, you dispel magic and diseases, and Spirit of Redemption lets you keep healing after you die.

On the other hand, you are fragile against physical damage. You move little: only Renew and Power Word: Shield can be cast on the move. And your mana melts if you repeat the same spell.

Rotation and priorities

Solo: Power Word: Fortitude and Inner Fire up, Power Word: Shield before you engage, Holy Fire to open at level 20 (Smite before that), Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Pain, then your wand to finish.

Healing in dungeons:

  1. Priority 1: Power Word: Shield
On the tank; maybe not on a rage tank, to be confirmed.
    When: Before the pull
  2. Priority 2: Renew
    On the tank.
  3. Priority 3: Heal
    Your most efficient heal.
  4. Priority 4: Flash Heal
    Your fast heal.
    When: In an emergency
  5. Priority 5: Shoot
    Wand the mobs.
    When: Stable group

Alternate your heals to benefit from Litany of Light. Keep Fade at hand: your heals generate a lot of threat.

Stats

  3. then 3Spirit
1 Spell power
and bonus healing

Order to be confirmed: the exact priority is not settled yet.

Look for spell power and bonus healing, Intellect and Spirit. No order is established.

Leveling

At level 20: Wand Specialization 2/2, Improved Renew 3/3, Holy Specialization 2/5 and Divine Fury 4/5. With 5 Legacy points, finish Holy Specialization and Divine Fury, then take Holy Nova.

You heal from level 1, Renew arrives at level 8 and Flash Heal at level 20, like Fear Ward: go learn it. Take the best wand at every step, and respect the five-second rule when your mana runs low.
