Feral Combat Druid — guide and builds

WoW Forever Feral Combat brings cat and bear together: forms tied to your weapon, Berserk, King of the Jungle in place of powershifting, and Lacerate and Primal Bite for tanking.

Class: DruidData 1.60.1.70009By ForeverGuide team · updated Sep 26, 2026

Overview

Cat Form damage now follows your weapon. Powershifting for energy disappears with the Furor rework; instead, King of the Jungle makes Tiger's Fury restore up to 60 energy, and Tiger’s Fury also raises your damage by 15%. Berserk, the new final talent, raises the critical strike chance of your combo point builders by 100% for 15 s and makes you immune to fear; in Bear Form, Primal Bite hits 3 targets with no cooldown.

Feral Charge has a cat version, which leaps behind the target, sharing its cooldown with the bear version. Blood Frenzy also gives your critical strikes a chance for an extra combo point. In Bear Form, you gain Lacerate, a stacking high-threat bleed, Primal Bite and Natural Reaction, which raises your dodge and gives you rage when you dodge.

At low level, Swipe and Maul barely scale with your power: your auto attacks and Thorns do most of the damage, and leveling in caster form, melee and heals, is often better. At level 20, the cat only has Claw and Rip. At level 20 on the beta, the spec ranks in tier B among DPS in Cat Form and in tier B among tanks in Bear Form. Its Cat Form damage looks a little short, and adjustments are expected, to be confirmed.

Read the details

You switch between tanking and damage within the same spec, which makes you a natural off-tank. You move fast, Rebirth brings an ally back in combat, and the spec is easy to pick up.

On the other hand, you often wait for energy in Cat Form, with no real area damage. You are also expected to cover tanking and utility, and your gear pieces are torn between roles.

    In every other case.
    When: Cat
  3. Priority 3: Wrath
    Pre-cast, to pull from range.
    When: Bear
  4. Priority 4: Bear Form
    Before the mob reaches you.
    When: Bear
  5. Priority 5: Demoralizing Roar
Keep it up on the enemies you tank.
    When: Bear
  6. Priority 6: Swipe
It does not scale with your attack power, but stays solid at low level.
    When: Bear, several enemies

    When: Bear, single target

Before Bear Form: keep Moonfire up and cast Wrath while the target approaches, then switch to melee.

Stats

  1. 1Weapon damage
  2. then 2Hit
  3. then 3Critical strike
  4. then 4Spell power
1 Weapon damage
First of all: both of your forms follow your weapon.
2 Hit
With Nature’s Reach or the Tauren racial.
4 Spell power
For Thorns.

Order to be confirmed: the exact priority is not settled yet.

No list is established. Your weapon comes before everything, since both of your forms follow it. Then aim for hit, critical strike, and spell power for Thorns. The order is still to be confirmed.

Leveling

Two level 20 builds. The DPS build: Genesis 5/5 and Nature's Reach 1/2 in Balance, Ferocity 5/5 in Feral Combat, without the movement talents. The hybrid build, to tank, deal damage and level: Ferocity 5/5, Feral Instinct 3/3, Feral Swiftness 2/2 and Feral Charge.

Early on, you mostly cast Wrath, and spell power weighs heavily. Keep Thorns up. Tanking in Bear Form gets you into dungeons faster, where the first clear with all the quests is very rewarding.
