Enhancement Shaman — guide and builds

The WoW Forever Enhancement Shaman fights with a two-hander, Maelstrom Weapon and Rage of the Farseer: it is the leveling spec for every Shaman, and it can even tank dungeons.

Class: ShamanData 1.60.1.70009By ForeverGuide team · updated Sep 26, 2026

Overview

WoW Forever Enhancement plays with a two-handed weapon: dual wield was removed from Shamans. Maelstrom Weapon, a new talent, builds stacks with your melee hits; at 5 stacks, your next Lightning Bolt is instant and free. Spend them right away so none go to waste.

Rage of the Farseer, the new final talent, raises your attack speed by 30% for 25 s, on a 3 min cooldown. Stormstrike comes back every 8 s instead of 12. Improved Ghost Wolf works indoors and becomes instant at rank 2. Mental Quickness converts your Intellect into spell power. Improved Stormstrike, at rank 2, raises your mana regeneration while casting for 15 s after Stormstrike, and resets Stormstrike when you dodge or parry.

It is the leveling spec for every Shaman until levels 38 to 40: your auto attacks do the work, and Rockbiter Weapon gives you free attack power. At level 20 on the beta, it leads the class in tier A among DPS.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths

  • Very mobile
    Instant Ghost Wolf, even indoors.
  • Area damage
Fire Nova and Totemic Projection, as long as your mana lasts.
  • Group utility
Your totems benefit the whole group.

Weaknesses

  • Easy to replace
Another Shaman spec that deals more damage brings the same totems.
Read the details

You move fast with Ghost Wolf, even indoors. Fire Nova and Totemic Projection give you big area damage as long as your mana lasts, and your single-target damage looks competitive. Your totems benefit the whole group.

On the other hand, your totems are the same for all three specs: if another Shaman spec deals more damage, nothing justifies bringing you instead.

Rotation and priorities

Single target:

  1. Priority 1: Lightning Shield
    Keep it up.
    When: Between fights
  2. Priority 2: Earth Shock
Or Lightning Bolt to pull from range.
  3. Priority 3: Attack
Let your auto attacks do the work and save your mana.

Several targets: drop Searing Totem, then Fire Nova as much as your mana and threat allow.

When tanking a dungeon, keep Rockbiter Weapon with Spirit Weapons to raise your threat. For a raid, you lack tanking tools.

Stats

  1. 1Weapon damage
  2. then 2Strength
  3. then 3Attack power
1 Weapon damage
With a slow two-handed weapon.

Order to be confirmed: the exact priority is not settled yet.

No list is established. Aim for weapon damage, with a slow two-handed weapon, then Strength and attack power. Upgrade your weapon regularly.

Leveling

At level 20: Thundering Strikes 5/5, Mental Dexterity 3/3, Improved Ghost Wolf 2/2 and Shamanistic Focus. A variant puts points into Restoration for more Fire Nova and healing. With Legacy points: Ancestral Knowledge 1/5, Elemental Weapons 3/3, then Stormstrike.

At low level, fight with Rockbiter Weapon on a slow two-handed weapon, or Flametongue Weapon on a fast weapon. Drop a Fire totem and cast Fire Nova as soon as it is ready. Solo, your heals turn your mana into health.
