Camping rules
  • A campfire can be placed almost anywhere in the world, except in cities or too close to another fire. Campfires come from Cooking.
  • Each craft yields two camp objects, used up when you place them.
  • You need the skill to place an object, but the whole group gets its bonus: stay near the fire for one minute, seated, on a chair, asleep, lying down or kneeling.
  • The bonuses mimic class buffs and do not stack with them.
  • A fire lasts 10 minutes (one-hour cooldown); camp objects share a one-hour cooldown.

Overview

Mining keeps the Classic rules, with a new ore and two new smelts for the endgame. You can learn it in your starting zone, with a manual offered by a quest around levels 3–4.

What changes in Forever

  • New ore: Heavy Thorium Ore.
  • New smelts: Smelt Azerothium at 275 and Smelt Heavy Thorium at 300. Legionite Bars come from an Alchemy transmute instead.
  • Rare materials while mining: Pyrite, Bauxite and Pitchblende.
  • A single skill point per node. Smelting grants points up to 185.
  • Rockslicer, a drop in the Deadmines, lets anyone mine copper, tin, silver and iron without the profession (30 charges).
  • The Legacy perk Bountiful Harvest increases the rare materials you gather.

Trainers

  • New apprentice trainers in every starting zone.
  • Neutral trainers on Zephras Isle (Shen'dar and Valanaar), in Gadgetzan and in Powderfuse Port, in the Riverglades.
For every profession
  • The system stays the Classic one: fixed reagents, items with fixed stats.
  • Over 600 new recipes, across every profession and level range; many old ones were reworked.
  • Recipe tracking (reagents shown like a quest objective), linking your whole profession book in chat, filters by skill-up, available materials or equipment slot.
  • Two primary professions, plus the three secondary ones: Cooking, First Aid and Fishing.
