Legacy: how to earn and spend your points

The Legacy system rewards account challenges with points you spend in trees of out-of-combat bonuses.

  • Legacy

Legacy is Forever's account progression. Challenges grant Legacy points, which you spend in trees of out-of-combat bonuses. Some milestones also give cosmetic rewards.

Unlocking Legacy

The system opens with your first point: usually when a first character reaches level 25, or 150 in a production profession, or when you explore the whole map. The default key is Y.

Earning points

There are 65 challenges, one point each:

  • classes: each class at level 25, 45 and 60 (27 points);
  • production professions: each one at 150, 225 and 300 (18 points);
  • PvP: ranks, battleground reputations and steps of the honor journey (12 points);
  • adventure: the Spelunker dungeon lists, the raids, exploration and Lord Valthalak's quest.

Spending points

At launch you can spend 16 points, spread across three trees: Adventure, Resourcefulness and Professions. A few examples: Well Rested increases rested experience, Talented brings your first talent point forward (level 9 at the first rank), and Frequent Flier makes flights cheaper and faster. You reset your choices at a class trainer.

Rewards and rulesets

Rewards come at 15, 25, 40 and 55 points, including a pet, a tabard and a spectral bear mount. Points are shared between rulesets, except Hardcore, and everything can be unlocked on a single character.
